Ensured under compliance with building re-certifications (number)

2026 FYTD
309

This performance measure tracks the number of buildings that have successfully met all requirements for mandatory re-certification under applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards within the reporting period. It reflects the organization’s effectiveness in maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory mandates related to ongoing building occupancy and operational safety.

Building owners are notified at the beginning of the year, and each building is required to achieve compliance within a two-year window from the date of notification. Under current regulations, violations are issued beginning January 24th, and buildings are expected to be in full compliance after April 30th of the certification year. However, buildings may request extensions based on specific circumstances, which can affect the timeline for final compliance. By calculating the percentage of buildings that have come into compliance, this measure provides insight into overall compliance levels and highlights the gap between compliant and non-compliant buildings. It serves as a critical indicator of the effectiveness of enforcement processes and the responsiveness of building owners to regulatory obligations. This data is key for identifying compliance trends, addressing delays, and ensuring building safety across the portfolio.
