Pot holes repaired within 30 days of being reported (percent)

2026 FYTD
100

Pot Holes repaired within 30 days of being reported by the Public Works Department.

This performance measure tracks the percentage of potholes repaired within 30 days of being reported to the City of Miami Public Works Department. The historical trend shows consistently strong performance, with completion rates ranging from 88% in FY2020–2021 to 100% in FY2024–2025, and several years meeting or exceeding the City’s 90% target. Subsequent years demonstrate significant improvement and sustained compliance with service expectations. The measure uses a consistent calculation method, evaluating repairs completed within a 30-day window relative to all reported potholes, ensuring year-to-year comparability. The data supports operational and strategic decision-making by enabling the City to assess responsiveness to resident service requests, evaluate the efficiency of roadway maintenance workflows, and identify potential resource or staffing needs when performance deviates from targets. Monitoring this measure also helps ensure timely repairs that enhance roadway safety, reduce hazards, and maintain the quality and appearance of public spaces. Strategically, maintaining high repair-timeliness rates contributes to the City’s broader efforts to systematically improve roadway conditions, reduce liability risks, and support a reliable transportation network. Consistent measurement and reporting reinforce accountability and help the City refine maintenance practices as part of its long-term infrastructure improvement strategy.

The data on potholes repaired is collected and maintained by the City’s Resilience and Public Works Department. Repair requests and work activities are recorded through the City’s 311 service system, where residents submit service requests, and staff log updates as repairs are completed. The information is then monitored, managed, and reported through OpenGov, which serves as the department’s performance tracking and reporting platform. This combination of 311 data and OpenGov records provides a consistent and reliable source for tracking pothole repair activity across fiscal years.
