This performance measure tracks the number of legislative items, including code amendments and zoning text amendments, brought before the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board (PZAB) that aim to promote quality of life, support business needs, and strengthen community resilience. The data is used to assess how effectively the Planning Department is advancing long-range planning goals in alignment with the City’s Strategic Plan. These legislative efforts reflect a commitment to improving public safety, housing affordability, mobility, infrastructure, and climate resilience, among other community priorities. Tracking these items enables the department to evaluate the impact of proposed regulatory changes on resident wellbeing and economic development. Results from this measure help inform future policy development, identify priority areas for zoning reform, and ensure that long-range planning efforts are responsive to Miami’s population growth and evolving urban challenges. No significant changes have been made in the calculation of this measure to date; it continues to represent a count of relevant legislative items scheduled for public hearing at PZAB.
